The sample of Synapseudes ideos by Gardiner [1973a] was taken at the beginning of February and was characterized by a high percentage of copulatory females having marsupia containing eggs or embryos [Gardiner, 1973a, p. 46]. The samples studied in this report were taken at the beginning (October/November) or at the end (April/May) of the warm season in the southern hemisphere. This might explain the much lower percentage of males and copulatory females found in the studied samples.
